“FEM expresses its condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, and constituents of U Kyaw Kyaw, a Rakhine MP who was committed to ending the internet shutdown. U Kyaw Kyaw was a friend who I will remember as both humble and enthusiastic to learn and debate,” said FEM Director, Yin Yadanar Thein.

“U Kyaw Kyaw was a friend to FEM and actively participated in many activities to protect freedom of expression over the years. He was a quiet and modest man who spoke with heartfelt force when concerned by something. He will be sorely missed by us all,” said FEM Advisor, Oliver Spencer.

U Kyaw Kyaw died in Sittwe hospital on 6 May 2020. His funeral will be held on 8 May at 1:30pm in his Mrauk-U constituency.

ဆရာဦးကျော်ကျော်သည် ၂၀၂၀၊ မေလ ၆ ရက်နေ့ တွင် စစ်တွေဆေးရုံ၌ ကွယ်လွန်ခဲ့ပြီး၊ မေလ ၈ ရက် မွန်းလွဲ ၁:၃၀ အချိန်တွင်၊ ဆရာ့မဲဆန္ဒနယ်ဖြစ်သော မြောက်ဦးမြို့၌ နာရေးကျင်းပမည် ဖြစ်သည်။
