ယခုလက်ရှိဖြစ်ပွားလျက်ရှိသော ရခိုင်နှင့်ချင်းပြည်နယ်ရှိ မြို့နယ် ၉ မြို့နယ်၌ အင်တာနက်ဖြတ်တောက်ထားမှုသည် ကမ္ဘာ့ကပ်ရောဂါ ကိုဗစ်-၁၉ ကို ခုခံတိုက်ခိုက်ရာတွင် ပြည်သူများ၏ စွမ်းဆောင်ရည်ကို သိသိသာသာ လျော့ကျသွားစေသည်။

မကြာသေးမီအချိန်က အစိုးရမှ 2G အင်တာနက်ကို ပြန်လည်ပေးအပ်ခဲ့သော်လည်း ၄င်း 2G သည် လွန်ခဲ့သော နှစ်သုံးဆယ်က အသုံးပြုခဲ့သည့် နည်းပညာသာဖြစ်ပြီး  အင်တာနက်ကို ထိရောက်စွာ အသုံးပြုနိုင်ရန် နှေးကွေးလွန်းလှသည်။

၄င်း အင်တာနက်ဖြတ်တောက်ခံထားရသည့်ဒေသတွင် နေထိုင်သူပေါင်း (၁.၄) သန်းဝန်းကျင်ရှိပြီး ၄င်းတို့သည် အဆိုပါ ကပ်ရောဂါဆိုးနှင့် ပတ်သက်သည့် နောက်ဆုံးရ သတင်းအချက်အလက်များကို လက်လှမ်းမှီနိုင်ခြင်း မရှိသည့်အပြင် ၄င်းတို့နှင့်  ၄င်းတို့၏ မိသာစုဝင်များ၊ လူမှု့အသိုင်းအဝိုင်းများအား မည်သို့ကာကွယ်နေထိုင်ရမည်နှင့် စပ်လျဉ်းသည့် သတင်းအချက်အလက်များကိုလည်း လုံလောက်စွာ ရှာဖွေနိုင်ခြင်း မရှိပေ။

အင်တာနက် ဖြတ်တောက်ခံရသည့်ဒေသရှိ ဆေးရုံ၊ ဆေးခန်းများမှ ဆရာဝန်များ၊ သူနာပြုများနှင့် ကျန်းမာရေးဝန်ထမ်းများသည်လည်း  အသက်ပေါင်းများစွာကို ကယ်တင်ရန် အထောက်အကူပြုသည့် သတင်းအချက်အလက်များကို ရယူနိုင်မည့် နည်းလမ်းမရှိချေ။

သို့ဖြစ်ပါ၍  3G နှင့် 4G အင်တာနက်များ ပြန်လည်ပေးအပ်ခြင်းဖြင့် အင်တာနက်ဖြတ်တောက်မှုကို အမြန်ဆုံး အဆုံးသတ်ပေးပါရန် FEM က အစိုးရအား တိုက်တွန်းလိုက်ပါသည်။

The ongoing internet shutdown in nine townships in Rakhine and Chin States will significantly undermine the people’s ability to fight Covid-19. 

The government has recently restored 2G, but 2G is 30 years old and is too slow to effectively access the internet.

There are 1.4 million people in the shutdown areas who cannot access government updates about the outbreak and cannot look for enough information about how to protect themselves, their families, and their communities. 

Doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers in hospitals and clinics in the shutdown areas have no way to access information that will help them save lives.

FEM urges the government to end the internet shutdown by restoring 3G and 4G. Save lives in Rakhine and Chin States.
